Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Development and Innovation, the Economic Development Consultant will provide market research services to our government client base. He/she will compile and validate lists of companies that match the preferred criteria of the client, engage in phone interviews with C-level executives of expanding companies and profile the companies and any discussions with the aforementioned executives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Consultant will take on an important role in activities that are vital to the success of projects undertaken:
- Calling and interviewing potential prospects
- Understanding companies in the US marketplace
- Communicating with C-level executives and clients to collect information and provide guidance in a professional manner
- Understanding the client’s needs and value proposition
- Researching companies and contacts using various web resources
- Identifying indicators of growth in companies
- Understanding financial elements of a company
- Reporting and creating profiles on companies engaged with
- Following up with companies to obtain feedback
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree
- Sales/lead generation/account management experience
- Ability and desire to call 50-60 companies per day
- Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken)
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Professionalism in dealing with C-level executives
- Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office suite, LinkedIn, HubSpot, CRM
- Knowledge of other languages (French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese) is an asset
- Previous experience working in governmental institutions is an asset
- Previous experience working in trade and foreign direct investment is an asset
- B2B phone experience is an asset
CONDITIONS
- Central downtown Montreal location
- Schedule is Monday to Friday 8:30am until 5:00pm
